Last year, Hulu introduced us to what is hands down one of the best reality shows we've seen in a long time, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And now after what feels like an eternity (more like 9 months, but we're dramatic) the show is finally back for season 2 today.

The second season will reunite us with the same group of Mormon moms, who also happen to be huge TikTok influencers, and see where the group is at now. But seeing as it's been nine months since they were last on our screens we can be forgiven for forgetting exactly what went down with the Utah women last time around.

Just as forgetful as us? Here's your essential recap on what happened in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 1.

Taylor Frankie Paul went through it

Okay, so The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives basically wouldn't exist without this woman. In 2022 Taylor Frankie Paul went viral on TikTok for "exposing" a "soft-swinging" group within her Mormon community in Utah. At the time she was part of a group of Mormon muo TikTokers who basically made cute videos dancing and sharing mom hacks.

But Taylor's confession sent them into the stratosphere and much of her early scenes in the show were about dealing with the fall out of the video and fixing her relationship with the other women.

After that was dealt with the more pressing issue was the relationship with her on again/off again boyfriend Dakota. Taylor Frankie and Dakota got together after Taylor split with her husband whom she has two young children with.

Taylor and Dakota had a very intense relationship that saw them go through a lot of ups and downs. Early on in the series Taylor was arrested following a drunken night and an argument she was having with Dakota. In 2023 she pled guilty to assault.

The couple stayed together and then announced they were expecting their first baby together (Taylor's third). Taylor goes onto give birth to their child, and just as the season is wrapping up, Taylor's friend Mayci drops a bombshell that she's investigating Dakota having previously cheated on Taylor.

The season ends with Mayci calling this alleged mistress to find out the tea.

Whitney was essentially excommunicated from the group

Whitney is another major player in the MomTok world and basically took the reigns over from Taylor-Frankie when the whole scandal went down.

However, as the series progressed her relationship with the rest of the women got incredibly tense after Whitney shared a video of herself from the hospital while her son was sick with RSV. She thought Taylor was forgiven more quickly than she was for her transgression than Whitney and it started to create a divide with herself and the rest of the women.

She then gave Demi a very poorly thought out gift and Demi later calls her "two-faced." After this Whitney leaves the group chat and doesn't travel to the group to Las Vegas. Her only friend left in the group is Mayci. However, she doesn't turn up to Mayci's brand launch party and so that basically severs all her ties to the group.

But she has been seen in the group since this all went down so we wonder what her reunion is going to look like.

Jen left MomTok

Jen Affleck who is somewhat loosely related to the Ben Affleck faces a difficult dilemma towards the end of the series. The girls plan a trip to Las Vegas and as part of this they want to go and see the male stripper show The Chippendales.

However, a few of the women's husbands and partners object to them going to the show. Jen's husband Zac in particular is very against her visiting the male dancers.

He and Dakota go with the girls on the trip, and when he finds out Jen has gone to the show, he is fuming and texts her a series of messages over text and says their marriage is over and he is taking the kids.

It obviously impacts Jen and she leaves the event. Zac is looking into medical school and following the whole Chippendales saga they go to look at schools in New York and by the end of the series Jen is moving to New York and leaving MomTok.

However, thankfully it appears Jen will be returning to the series for season 2.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives seasons 1 and 2 are available on Hulu now.
